Are you making your own pesto yet?
I hate that the California review is so terrible and I wish they would try it again and remove their bad review. This recipe is easy and I added about 2 teaspoons of maple syrup and juice of half a lemon as the other reviewers suggested. That was based on doubling the recipe. IT TURN OUT GREAT! This is the best recipe I have used for pesto. Much better that Ina Garten’s.I do wanted this to work. Total fail as written. Not enough liquid to blend. Missing acid.
This is classic pesto Genoese and although the proportions can be varied a bit, the ingredients may not be. It isn’t pesto if walnuts are substituted for pignoli or parsley for the basil. There is no harm in making a sauce with walnuts but do not call it pesto.Love this recipe. I have made it twice now and it has come out perfectly both times.
