I am usually interested in only the film itself, and I must admit that I rarely view the Special Features on Home Video. The Batman is a wonderful exception. Each of the Special Features on the 4k / Blu Ray Edition of The Batman were positively thrilling. I received the package today, and spent over two hours viewing the Special Features.
I don’t really know what some people were expecting. Batman has had so many different treatments that I marvel that the creative team on this film were able to come up with such fresh ideas. This is not The Dark Knight and not something that Tim Burton would dream up. This is a wholly new and altogether unique take on a Vigilante / Hero that has been done to death. Yes, it’s the darkest, most humorless, grim version of The Batman ever done.
