Biden wand Xi will meet in San Francisco during APEC in November. The City is preparing to host more than 20,000 people and 20 global leaders that month
President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet in San Francisco next month for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, an annual forum that promotes free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
At Tuesday’s press briefing, Jean-Pierre mentioned that the logistics for the talks between the two nations are ongoing but said Biden is looking forward to a conversation with Xi. Biden and Xi have not met in the United States since the former was elected to office in 2020, though the two crossed paths during the Group of 20 summit in Bali last year. Xi last visited the United States in 2017, where he met with former President Donald Trump at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
