For the evening commute roads in the metro area will likely be snow-packed, and driving conditions could be hazardous. Drivers are urged to be prepared for winter-like conditions and allow for extra time to safely arrive at their destinations.
Total snow accumulations from the approaching storm system will range from 2 to 6 inches along the Interstate 25 corridor, between 4 and 9 inches north of the Interstate 70 corridor in the foothills and mountains, and between 1 and 3 inches on the Eastern Plains, the weather service said. In the metro area, locally higher amounts are expected to west, especially in western Boulder County.
