After about 120 straight hours of below-freezing temperatures, Denver should begin to thaw Saturday. But first, we could see a touch more snow on Friday. COwx

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will only reach a high of 29 degrees with a 20% chance of snow after noon. Clouds will increase throughout the day, and temperatures should climb from a morning wind chill value of negative five degrees.

The temperature will quickly fall after dark, and the chance for snow increases to 40%. The low is forecasted at nine degrees, and less than a half-inch of snow accumulation is expected. NWS predicts the freeze will break Saturday as temperatures jump to 41 degrees under sunny skies. Temperatures will dip to 16 degrees overnight.
