Motorist dies after collision with tractor trailer in Middlesex County
A New Brunswick man died of his injuries after his car collided with a tractor-trailer early Saturday in South Brunswick.
The 40-year-old motorist, whose name has not been released, was driving a car northbound on Route 1 near New Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. when his vehicle struck the rear of a tractor trailer driven by a 56-year-old Somerset man, according to South Brunswick Police Department Deputy Chief Jim Ryan. The car was stuck under the trailer and emergency responders from Monmouth Junction Fire Department had to remove the trapped driver.
He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead, Ryan said.Our journalism needs your support. Please subscribe today to
