The trial of Brian St. John is scheduled to begin Aug. 22 with Clinton County president Judge Craig Miller presiding and District Attorney David Strouse prosecuting.

LOCK HAVEN – The homicide trial of a Clinton County man will begin Aug. 22 before the president judge and with the district attorney prosecuting.

In discussing a schedule for the case, Strouse informed Miller the prosecution will focus during the trial on charges of first- and third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. The prosecution alleges St. John removed a Taurus Judge revolver from a kitchen drawer, pointed it Haines and pulled the trigger.

They also represented Dustin Ford Briggs who was convicted in 2006 of killing two Bradford County deputy sheriffs two years earlier. Another reason Strouse gave for wanting Miller to recuse himself was his representation in 2006 of St. John’s mother, Bethy Jo St. John, in criminal cases in Clinton and Lycoming counties.
