After a construction crew damaged a major water main, the city of Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas could be without water for up to 24 hours.

"Residents and businesses in Fort Lauderdale and neighboring cities that receive their water from Fort Lauderdale should be prepared to be without water service for up to 24 hours," the city said in a statement.
