Organizations are offering benefits from egg freezing to paid parental leave in order to attract more talented women.Women make up the majority of the college-educated workforce in 2019, and that’s good news for all working women. Employers, eager to attract and retain this new majority, are finally listening to what’s important to their female employees. From flexible work schedules to egg freezing, employers are starting to deliver on benefits that women want at work.
Women surpassed men in obtaining college degrees in the 1980s and are currently earning 57% of bachelor’s degrees . For the last few years women have been hovering around 49% of the college-educated workforce, but, according to , women now make up 50.2% of the college-educated work force. With women representing the majority, organizations are starting to realize that they must begin catering to the needs of female employees if they want to attract and retain the best employees.
Digital workspace technology company, Citrix, has altered its own benefits packages in order to attract and retain qualified women. Citrix's Chief People Officer, Donna Kimmel, describes the importance of flexibility to their female workforce,"One of the things we view as critical to any compensation package is the ability to work anywhere at any time.
