Rockets coach Stephen Silas vowed he would stay “positive,” that nothing, no amount of frustration or disappointment, would deter him from that determination.
“It’s on my mind,” Silas said. “There was no real rhyme or reason. In this situation, one of the messages is always positivity. So, maybe it’s been more, lately, on my mind as a result of the losing we’ve been doing. It wasn’t calculated at all.” Martin, however, thought Silas might have been making sure he did not get down around his team following the death of his father, Paul Silas. For Stephen Silas, basketball could not be an escape, not just because of the Rockets’ ongoing struggles but because that was something his father and he shared.“Seeing the tragic situation happen with his dad passing, I told him to not be sorry if he is down,” Martin said. “I told him, “You can have your emotions.
