AmeriGas has recalled tanks sold in some New England states because of a defect but is concerned that travelers may have some of the recalled tanks in their possession.
AmeriGas on Aug. 9, 2023, recalled 490, 20-pound propane exchange tanks sold in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. has recalled some propane tanks sold in New England but is concerned that people traveling on vacation could also have possession of the cylinders.
“AmeriGas does not manufacture these barbecue cylinders/tanks but is issuing this recall for their recovery in order to protect our consumers and their safety, which is paramount,” the company said. The recalled tanks are marked “EVAS-M0859″ on the ring around the top with the carry handle. Tanks without that number and purchased elsewhere outside of the time frame are unaffected.
