Baltimore Orioles rookie John Means improved to 4-3 with another impressive start against the defending World Series champion, Boston Red Sox

The hope is that Means will continue to develop and help anchor the pitching staff for years to come. Means went just 35-41 in the minor leagues, but he has been much more effective against major-league hitters. The Orioles skipper was not overly familiar with Means entering spring training, but he has been impressed with his presence on the mound and attention to detail.

Means has been one of the feel-good stories for the Orioles. He pitched effectively throughout spring training and was a surprise addition to the 25-man roster.
