Jeremy Calonge, 34, was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and taking a weapon from a peace officer.has a violent criminal history, records show.
Authorities said Calonge was intoxicated and belligerent, causing security to escort the man and his group out of the restaurant, located at 103 SW Loop 410.Once outside, police said the off-duty officer upholstered his Taser and pointed it toward the ground. Calonge then grabbed the Taser from the officer and ran, and, after a short foot pursuit, he turned around and fired the Taser at the officer, according to police.
