A man from the Third Lake-area in Lake County was reported in very critical condition after his ATV broke though the ice on Druce Lake Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency service personnel on the scene Wednesday afternoon where a man driving an ATV on the ice fell into the frigid waters of Druce Lake along Lake Shore Drive in unincorporated Lake County near Third Lake, Wednesday March 2, 2022
Police said the man, who lives near the lake, was riding an ATV near the center of the lake when the rear of the vehicle broke through the ice. A moment later, police said, the vehicle and the man sank into the lake. Although initial reports indicated more than one person was in the water, the man was the sole person on the ATV, police said.
