Wonder Man is joining the MCU as its roster of heroes continues to expand! Details 👉

Marvel Studios is developing a Wonder Man TV show for Disney+ with Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton. The Marvel Cinematic Universe expanded to the small screen in 2021 as WandaVision marked the beginning of a wave of content on Disney's streaming service. Marvel Studios is in the middle of its second wave of shows after debuting Ms. Marvel and wrapping up Moon Knight, with She-Hulk on the horizon. However, there are plenty of other plans for additional MCU Disney+ shows.

Among the plans for new Marvel shows on Disney+, it was previously reported that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director was working on a show. It was expected at the time that the series was going to be a Shang-Chi movie spinoff, potentially based around Xialing and the new-look Ten Rings. In the time since this speculation began, Kevin Feige teased that viewers were in for an unexpected Disney+ show from Cretton.

Simon Williams a.k.a. Wonder Man is one of Marvel Comics' oldest characters following his introduction in 1964. He started off as a villain but became a founding member of the West Coast Avengers, which led to Simon Williams becoming a celebrity actor when he was not saving the day. The comics linked him to Vision by revealing the sythezoid was based on Simon Williams' brainwaves. This even led to Wonder Man and Scarlet Witch becoming romantically involved after Vision died.

The MCU has repeatedly flirted with the idea of using Wonder Man, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming the closest after James Gunn had Nathan Fillion play the actor version of him for some background posters. Now, Wonder Man will be Simon Williams' chance to receive a proper introduction in the shared universe. He'll seemingly have a comedic tone through his debut based on Guest's involvement too.
