MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- City Council heard Monday from two lawyers representing commercial property owners concerning plans for the CVS/Pharmacy building at, that may be built in the parking lot in front of the Lakshmi Plaza storefronts, situated behind and to the east of CVS.
Chojnacki said the Landis Group has been leasing its property for 20 years to CVS, and have a total of 17 real estate assets in Northeast Ohio. “That being said, the property at 5901 Mayfield Road is going to be changing. We have received some notice that CVS plans to vacate the premises in 2025.” The council agenda had included two motions that are now delayed -- one for council to approve a preliminary site plan for the Popeye’s restaurant, and another to approve a preliminary site plan for what might replace the CVS building.
Zimmerman, a former Shaker Heights councilman of 16 years, thanked Mayor Anthony DiCicco for the moment of silence held at the start of the council meeting in prayer for the Israeli people and those killed or taken hostage since the attacks began Saturday. Chojnacki said that he has been in contact with the Mayfield Ridge Limited Partnership lawyers to try and work out a satisfactory agreement.Also at Monday’s meeting, DiCicco and council remembered and honored late developer Larry Ottino, as the mayor presented a proclamation to Ottino’s family members. Ottino died July 3 at age 74.
