Microsoft's recent updates to the Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 confirms an exciting dual-screened future for its Android devices.
with improvements to the Your Phone app, allowing Android apps to be run on your PC over the software's link to your Surface Duo.The Surface Duo 2 already has these features, so this update continues the process of Microsoft bringing the original Surface Duo’s software up to the levels expected in 2022. The big question is going to be the move up to the next version of Android. The Duo launched with Android 10, and only picked up Android 11 after the launch of the Surface Duo 2 in late 2021.
. The latter makes a lot of sense for both of the dual-screened Duo devices. Android 12L focuses on larger screened devices; tablets are of course the big benefactors but foldables with large screens, and dual-screened devices are also included in this feature lift. And the more support that is built automatically into Android for dual screens means more compatibility for apps running on the Surface Duo family without needing direct intervention from the developers.
