DNA test of skull found in 2021 confirms death of missing person Maria Jesus Llamas
Frank Trevino, CourtesyMaria Jesus Llamas, who had been missing for six years, was confirmed dead after a DNA test positively identified her skull, found by dove hunters two years ago.
Police told the family Saturday that a skull found Sept. 18, 2021, on private land between the Poteet flea market and where Llamas’s purse was found had been positively identifed, according to the family’s Facebook page, “Help Find Maria Jesus Llamas.” On Saturday, the family received confirmation that the remains were tested using DNA and belonged to “the wife, mother, and grandmother who had been missing over six years,” according to the family’s Facebook post on Saturday.
