'45-second' Oscars speech is more than John Bolton got at Trump impeachment trial, Brad Pitt jokes
As he accepted his best supporting actor award on Sunday, Brad Pitt joked about how the Senate voted against allowing witnesses during the trial that wrapped up last week."They told me I only had 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week," Pitt said."I'm thinking maybe Quentin does a movie about it and in the end the adults do the right thing.
Portions of his unpublished book manuscript, released days before the Senate was to vote on allowing witnesses, included Bolton's words that Trump ordered him to help pressure Ukraine to investigate Trump's Democratic rivals.Pitt won for his role as stuntman Cliff Booth in Tarantino's"Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood."Read MoreLate last month, the Senate voted against allowing subpoenas for witnesses and documents by a 49-51 vote.
