A comparison by Saskatoon city hall suggests the city levies the lowest property taxes per capita among nine cities in Western Canada.

According to the 2021 census, youth under 15 accounted for nearly one in five people in Regina and Saskatoon.

In this single-family home comparison, Saskatoon levied $2,305 for a single-family home worth $345,000, lower than all but Winnipeg at $1,909 for a home worth $334,000. Vancouver led with $3,578 for a home assessed at $2.1 million, followed by Edmonton with $2,982 for a home worth $425,500. Per capita spending in Regina came in at $2,760. The five towns with highest per capita spending — Luseland, Lampman, Coronach, Kyle and Blaine Lake — all registered above Saskatoon.
