Republican Scherie Murray, a Jamaican immigrant, wants to take on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2020: 'It's time to rid NYC of AOC!'
New York businesswoman Scherie Murray is the latest Republican to announce their intentions to run against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her congressional seat in 2020.
"But your representative in Washington chooses self-promotion over service, conflict over constituents, resistance over assistance," Murray adds. After migrating to the U.S. with her family when she was nine, Murray grew up in the southeast Queens area of New York and studied at the I.S. 192 Middle School.
