Everyone is talking about Rick and Morty being recast in season 7, but what about the other major main character that Justin Roiland voices?
Justin Roiland is leaving Rick and Morty, and while the titular duo is being recast for season 7, one other Justin Roiland character probably won't be recast. Roiland is the co-creator and star of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, having voiced Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith since the very beginning of the show. However, Rick and Morty season 7 will change everything, giving a new voice to Rick and Morty, with questions still remaining about the status of Roiland's other characters.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Justin Roiland was fired from Rick and Morty after season 6, with the decision being made by Adult Swim after Roiland was accused of domestic abuse. Unexpectedly, Adult Swim simultaneously announced that Rick and Morty would continue on without its creator, with the two characters presumably being recast before the next season. Besides Rick and Morty, Roiland voices tons of background characters throughout the show, giving life to all kinds of one-off joke characters.
Mr. Poopybutthole made several appearances throughout Rick and Morty seasons 2 and 3, but in recent years, he just hasn't had that much of a presence. Mr. Poopybutthole's only appearances in seasons 4, 5, and 6 are in post-credits scenes of the season finales, in which he addresses the audience and gives updates on his life. These scenes are fun cameos, but they're not significant enough to bring in an all-new voice actor for him. Mr.
Why Mr. Poopybutthole's Rick & Morty Ending Works Mr. Poopybutthole's last appearance in Rick and Morty was in the season 6 finale "Ricktional Mortpoon's Rickmas Mortcation," and he doesn't need any more story after this one. Mr. Poopybutthole's brief cameo appearance occurs at the very end of the episode, with the character having just watched the series finale as well.
Mr. Poopybutthole's Rick and Morty season 6 ending isn't a happy one, but it works perfectly for the show. Rick and Morty is incredibly dark and mean-spirited, and having a character as positive as Mr. Poopybutthole end his story by breaking both of his legs is a hilarious way to wrap up the character. With the season 6 cameo probably being Mr.
