Among those arrested was an 82-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife, the only woman in the group.
Police say the Grace Richardson conservation area had been publicized online as a place for folks as a meetup to have sex, or"hook up," according to an online"City Hookup Guide." The Fairfield Police's Quality of Life Unit and the Special Services Unit worked together to set up surveillance to catch people in the act. The police spotted violations of sexual and lewd activities from the six seniors.
The six seniors arrested were Daniel Dobbins, 67, Otto D. Williams, 62, Charles L Ardito, 75, John Linartz, 62, Richard Butler, 82, and his wife, 85-year-old Joyce Butler. Dobbins has a prior arrest in 2017 after witnesses told police they saw him walking naked in another park. Police found him in his car with a shirt and shorts draped over him, with no underwear. He allegedly told police he was naked for medical purposes. Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras said law enforcement is staying committed to keep public areas"appropriate and safe."
