'Sonic & Knuckles,' a cutting-edge classic, is 25 years old today

Originally, Sega had planned forto be one game.
Sega didn’t want the resulting games to feel like separate outings, so developers got together to look at alternate ways to accomplish their original grand plan. Sonic Team focused on quite literally bringing the two cartridges together for a unified experience, in terms of both story and technology.to plug their game directly into the top of thecartridge, which mimicked the slot of the Genesis itself.
