Police said they were alerted of a possible suicidal person about 5:20 p.m., just before a fire broke out at the same home in the 600 block of East Lynn Creek Drive, near Silo Road. After the fire was put out, police said 15-year-old Mattie Prescott wad found with an apparent gunshot wound. Prescott was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.As crews continued to search the home, police said they also found a 51-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said she was related to Prescott but did not elaborate.
The woman was pronounced dead at the home, police said, but the medical examiner’s office had not determined her cause of death as of Friday afternoon.The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was immediately available.
