Monday’s charges follow last week’s order by an appeals court tofrom a 2015 lawsuit by one of Epstein’s alleged victims, Virginia Roberts. She alleged Epstein abused her when she was 16.
Epstein goes way back with Trump, Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Alexander Acosta, among a larger number of famous men he associated with Those documents have yet to be unsealed, as unnamed individuals have the right to appeal the order. But it could implicate powerful politicians and businessmen Epstein was friends with—including President Trump, Prince Andrew, and Alan Dershowitz.
Geoffrey Berman, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, spoke at a Monday press conference on the new charges against Epstein."If you believe you are a victim of this man, Jeffrey Epstein, we want to hear from you," he said,: Epstein has been under scrutiny since a 2007 federal indictment in Florida was negotiated through what most agree was a very lenient plea deal, which granted him and his anonymous co-conspirators immunity and sealed all documents.
