The current top two vote-getters are looking ahead to the anticipated face-off less than three months away

Front-runner Monica Montgomery Steppe and current runner-up Amy Reichert are turning their attention to an anticipated November runoff for county District 4 supervisor, as vote-counting in Tuesday’s special election continues.

The candidates have been vying in a truncated race for the seat vacated by Nathan Fletcher on the five-member County Board of Supervisors, which is currently split between two Democrats and two Republicans. Fletcher stepped down earlier this year amid sexual misconduct allegations. Reichert, a licensed private investigator and ReOpen San Diego founder who also ran for the seat last November, was also looking ahead to the anticipated face-off less than three months away.

Following the latest results, Goldbeck, a veterans’ advocate who had been endorsed by some local Democratic members of Congress, appeared ready to lend her to support to her fellow party member.
