Mike Golic is back on the sports media scene, but the return isn’t coming without a little bit of pride towards his former network.
Mike Golic is back on the sports media scene with his son, and with his return, the ex-ESPN star seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
The former defensive lineman for the Eagles and Dolphins started at ESPN Radio in 1998 alongside Tony Bruno in the morning drive. He then moved on to “Mike & Mike” with Mike Greenberg from 2000-17, and then he linked up with his son Mike Golic Jr. and Trey Wingo for “Golic & Wingo,” which ended in 2020.Golic revealed that he wants the Worldwide Leader to look back and regret letting him go“I didn’t want ‘Mike and Mike’ to end, and then it ended, but it wasn’t my choice,” he said. “I didn’t want to be done at ESPN, but again, it wasn’t my choice.
“Trey and my son – the most fun I had,” he said of his time on ESPN Radio. “I mean, my God, I get to work with my kid, you know? I mean, we’d flip on the microphone at 6 a.m., and there I am talking with my son. So, now we’re going to do that again for two hours every morning. I’m not passing that up.”Trey Wingo, Hannah Storm and Mike Golic attend “A Lifetime Of Sundays” New York Screening at The Paley Center for Media on September 18, 2019.
